He first with Sherfane Rutherford (20) stitched a 61-run stand off 42 balls and then combined with Will Jacks to steer Mumbai Indians home in 19.5 overs.
This loss of Punjab Kings severely dented playoff hopes of Punjab Kings as they now need to win both their balance matches to stay in league for a top-four finish.

From the last five overs 72 runs needed, Rutherford and Tilak Varma attacked Chahal and collected 20 runs in one over. Tilak Varma continued the chase confidently even after Rutherford fell.
In the 18th over, he hit Marco Jansen for two sixes and a four, which went for 22 runs and pushed score of Mumbai Indians ahead in the match. Tilak completed the chase with two sixes in the last over when need 15 runs to win.
